I started writing this song in the Holiday season of 2022, when it was the first time in a couple of years that people felt comfortable getting together again after COVID. I didn't finish it and record it until 2023. I like the idea of putting out an unconventional "Holiday" song that offers a different take on the season.

Written about a year after the Presidential election of 2016, this song reflects on the division and loss of wonder in American society from the perspective of one lonely observer.
After the election of 2016, I felt a weight of gravity that I've never felt before. The sobering thought reminded me of how much we (speaking as a citizen of the United States) have let the reigns of our democracy slip away from us. Agree or disagree, we have let the power brokers win - the election of 2016 simply a logical step of the infusion of money in our body politic. The wonder and innocence of daily life feels as though it has fled, as we search for answers instead of distractions.
I feel the division among us, but the juxtaposition of what unites us is that we are all just trying to make our way to what we believe is right, often times in our own bubbles, not considering another point of view. I'm just as guilty of that as anyone.
And so we are... living among the divided, sometimes yelling at each other, sometimes ignoring each other.
This song is not an answer. Just a snapshot.

Though the song is not explicitly about those events, it uses that frame to convey the universal messages of love, kindness, and acceptance in an effort to overcome the ugliness of hate. It’s an uplifting, thought-provoking song that I believe will help people feel united.

The third studio album from Seth Adam, released in 2013, "Steel Tempered Pride' delved into deeply personal topics, experimentation with various musicians and sounds, and includes two tracks produced by David Immerglück (guitarist, Counting Crows). Features crowd favorites "Old Broken Ladder" and "New York City Bound."
“His “Steel Tempered Pride” is just that. Brutally honest (“These Pills”), cynically astute (“People Are Only Going To Break Your Heart”) and grateful (“Thank You, Chicago”), Seth Adam puts his feelings into rockin’ odes that you can boogie all night to without having to even listen to his well-defined words if you don’t want to.”

ALBUM - Seth Adam - Amplify - Released December 7, 2010
Amplify was the second studio record from Seth Adam. Making the album was a challenging process. Losing former bass player Lorin Pellegrino after the release of "Where You Come From," as well as Fred DiLeone (keys) and Sean Miller (mandolin) just after recording sessions for "Amplify" began, Seth recruited drummer Anthony Bianco's brother to play bass. The now four-piece ensemble would pursue a harder rock sound, running tightly and efficiently. But there were other challenges along the way. Shortly after recording began in 2009, Seth lost his voice and needed months to recover. There was also disagreement with then producer Vic Steffens on the direction of how the songs should be mixed, resulting in parting ways with Vic and relocating at a new studio to complete the record. With recording engineer, mixing engineer, and co-producer Scott White on board, Seth and company were able to finish the record over the summer and fall of 2010, ultimately releasing it at the end of the year.
"This 10-song full-length is beautifully written, played and produced. This level of craftsmanship and polish are not often heard on the local scene." (James Velvet - New Haven Advocate)

Having fronted his former band, Green Inside, for about a five-year run, Seth returned to the stage in 2006 under the "Seth Adam" moniker - his name. His new band assemblage, including former Green Inside guitarist Gerry Giaimo, former Green Inside bassist Lorin Pellegrino, Fred DiLeone (keys) and Anthony Bianco (drums) would perform regularly in New York City, at such infamous venues like The Bitter End, The Cutting Room, Rockwood Music Hall, and Piano's. The constant surge in NYC and around the area gained attention from former FoxNews.com entertainment columnist Roger Friedman, who called the band “the hardest-working, best live act in indie rock” in 2007.

While writing and recording songs for the first, full-length album, Seth Adam and band were consistently playing in the New England/New York/Philadelphia area. Feeling confident about their live show, they decided to record and release one of their shows as an official "live album." "Live In New Haven 11.8.06" was recorded at New Haven's nostalgic Toad's Place while the band opened up for a then newly-signed, Elektra Records artist (who shall remain unnamed).
