The follow-up studio record to 2008's Where You Come From, the second full-length studio album Amplify was a laborious task. Adam explains: "We had personnel changes, studio changes, disagreement on the production, I lost my voice for months at one point - it makes for a good soap opera! But this record is a wonderful body of work, and I am extremely proud of it." The album took over a year to complete. Lyrically, the record reveals some of the most intimate content from Seth to date, all the while enveloped in a raw, honest, guitar-driven, rootsy rock & roll tradition.

Where You Come From is the debut studio album for Seth Adam. Released in 2008, the album received rave reviews from local and national press. Roger Friedman of Showbiz411 raved: "All the songs on Where You Come From are potential radio hits, so catchy that once you've heard them it's hard to get them out of your head." Patrick Ferrucci of the New Haven Register wrote: "I would, without a doubt, throw on a Seth Adam record before a John Mayer or Rob Thomas album. And it’s somewhat unfair to even mention those two when talking about Where You Come From..." Conceptually, the album represents a collection of songs written about experiences throughout the years, ranging from missing significant others, to the notable anecdote about Seth's grandparents (Charlie & Mildred's Dream), to the aspirations of leaving CT.
